Security Analyst

Patuxent River NAS, MD

The Security Analyst will assist in the preparation of Certification &Accreditation (C&A) documentation including the C&A Plan, IAC selection, Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), and Test and Evaluation (T&E) results. They will accomplish system hardening activities by running automated tools or manually adjusting registry settings, will perform hardening scans using approved tools such as RETINA, Gold Disk or Nessus on systems for determining risk posture, and will perform analysis of those scans for compliance with applicable STIGs and IAVAs. The Security Analyst will assist in preparation of the Navy’s Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RTD&E) Lab Information Assurance Support Team (RLIST) customer facilities for Information Assurance (IA) conformance inspections, and will review changes and updates to governing security DoD and NIST documents for impacts to RLIST customer activities and facilities. They must be self motivated, able to drive tasks to completion and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.

Experience: Three (3) years minimum

Certifications: Must have a DoD 8570 IAT-II Certification at a minimum - Security+, SSCP, GSEC, SCNP

Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance

Education: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Engineering from an accredited college or university. An additional of four (4) years experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Computer Specialist II

The Computer Analyst II will provide embedded system administrative support to the Navy’s Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RTD&E) Lab Information Assurance Support Team (RLIST). This includes the ability to register software applications and databases in the DON Applications and Database Management System (DADMS) and map software applications and databases to the Test and Evaluation (T&E) taxonomy in DADMS. They should be knowledgeable in the preparation of Certification &Accreditation (C&A) documentation including schedules, network and architecture drawings, system component descriptions, C&A Plans, IAC selection, System Identification Profile, Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), and T&E results. They will be able to accomplish system hardening activities by running automated tools or manually adjusting registry settings (for example). The Computer Analyst II will also perform post hardening vulnerability scans using approved tools such as RETINA, Gold Disk, SRR or Nessus on systems for determining risk posture. They must also be able to perform analysis of scans for compliance with applicable STIGs and IAVAs. They will support Information Assurance inspection preparation activities. They must be self motivated, able to drive tasks to completion and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.

Computer Specialist III

The Computer Analyst III will provide oversight of Computer Analysts I and II in the support of the Navy’s Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RTD&E) Lab Information Assurance Support Team (RLIST). This includes the ability to register software applications and databases in the DON Applications and Database Management System (DADMS) and map software applications and databases to the Test and Evaluation (T&E) taxonomy in DADMS. They should be knowledgeable in the preparation of Certification &Accreditation (C&A) documentation including schedules, network and architecture drawings, system component descriptions, C&A Plans, IAC selection, System Identification Profile, Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), and T&E results. They will provide oversight of system hardening activities, and they will perform analysis of scans for compliance with applicable STIGs and IAVAs. They will also provide SME assistance at CRB meetings and to RLIST customers. Additionally, the Computer Analyst III will review draft Information Assurance guidance promulgated by Dept of Navy CIO and other activities for impacts on RLIST customer's activities and systems, and will support the management of the RDT&E IT portfolio. They must be self motivated, able to drive tasks to completion and be able to work both independently and within a team environment.

Experience: Six (6) years minimum

Security Architect/Engineer

Rancho Bernardo, CA

This position is an Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert on a high technology development project protecting national intelligence assets. This role requires broad expertise in Risk Management, Security Architecture, and Assessment & Authorization. You will have an opportunity to shape the security architecture, approaches, and processes used on this and many other projects from the ground up. This position is a challenging role in a multi-contractor team supporting multiple fast moving acquisition programs. In this role, you will work as a key team member, execute tasks, and supervise the work of security engineers on the project. This task requires expertise in Information Assurance--you need to be the go-to person. This role requires coordination with government security stakeholders, setting up key Technical Exchange Meetings, advocating our approach, completing government forms, and negotiating any special security conditions, or approaches such as delta accreditations on later work. Establishing a track record of reliability and trust with government security stakeholders is crucial. As part of the Lightspeed-Produce, Protect, Perform (LP3) team, occasional consulting on other projects as well as RFI and proposal support are also required.

Responsibilities/Key Attributes include:

  • Deliver IA leadership and consulting services as a key member of the development and proposal teams
  • Outstanding communication skills including verbal and written; Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Visio, Project, and other tools to communicate with peers and customers at all technical levels
  • Scanning systems and assisting the team in remediating vulnerabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management in government and contractor engineering teams
  • Ability to plan, design, and implement secure cross-domain solutions supporting mission essential data flow requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate and advocate key security requirements to the development team
  • Document secure configuration of the systems in the government Certification and Accreditation workflow tool processes
  • Ensure system complies with key government security requirements and demonstrate that through verification testing with government security stakeholders
  • Ability to respond to RFIs/RFPs with well thought out and creative solutions

The ideal person for this role is very experienced, technically capable, self-motivated, and can effectively lead and influence others to deliver the right solution for the customer. Creativity, personal backbone, and IT security experience are required. A broad range of Information Assurance experience is required to be successful in this position.

Required qualifications:

  • SCI clearance with current SSBI
  • Strong knowledge of DCID 6/3, DIACAP, or ICD 503 security requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field
  • 5+ years experience in Information Assurance positions
  • Information Architecture/Systems Architecture experience
  • Experience with system hardening
  • Experience working in a team environment on similar tasks
  • IT security training including DoD 8570 certification

Strongly desired qualifications/skills:

  • Strong Linux, Windows, and virtualization administration and hardening experience
  • Cross-domain security architecture, engineering, and C&A experience
  • Experience with virtual systems, cloud compute, cloud storage, high performance, and high availability configurations
  • Experience with XACTA
  • Experience with Retina or other govt approved vulnerability scanners
  • Proposal writing experience
  • Professional certifications--managerial or technical certifications such as PMP, CISSP, RHCE, CCIE, etc.
